More Cool Golden Age Comics

gordonbrewer.substack.com

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I received a batch of golden age comics. Since I focus on WW2 comics or 1st issues my collection is expanding faster than I can read them. Here are the latest.

The Fawcett series of Captain Midnight ran from 1942-1948. I have the #4 issue from Jan 1943 (with cool looking gremlins on the cover) so these two issues are from 1943 as well. The #9 issue has the most condition issues but still looks pretty interesting.

The #11 issue has cover art by Mac Raboy.

Staying with the captains, next up is Captain Aero Comics (Vol. 4 #17) is from October, 1944 with a cover by L. B. Cole.

Captain Aero flew his last mission with Holyoke Publications in 1946.

Don Winslow of the Navy came in the door as a #4 issue and shows an interesting fight under water with a Nazi saboteur on this cover.

The series from Fawcett ran from 1943 - 1955.
