The Fedex truck arrived today with a new batch of Golden Age comics from the 1940s. While I push for first issues, these were nice enough for the price and an obscure publisher on top of it. I liked the covers as well.
This slabbed Blue Circle copy only had 6 issues and the contents do not match cover. The sixth issue of this run consisted of several variations (one marked with Martin Kane and the other without). This variation contains the remaindered comic - Martin Kane - Private Eye #nn - and it was re-covered by the publisher, Rural, without page 1 of the first story.
On the other hand, my 2 Boy Commandos that came in are from DC comics. However, they are World War II comics with covers by Jack Kirby and inks by Joe Simon. I plan on having them graded and slabbed with several other comics I’ve received over the last year. The series lasted from 1942-1949.
