Let’s start this one with an unusual one-shot comic from 1945. Warrior Comics, published by H. C. Blackerby is a very obscure publisher of the 1940s. From what little is known about the company, they put out a few titles in 1945 and disappeared. The comics from unknown publishers I really like, but the pocketbook can seldom afford. The only problem is I can’t find an online copy of this to read.

This Yankee Comics #1 is from 1941 and comes from another obscure publisher, Harry A Chesler whose company was primarily focused on supplying comic-book content to publishers. His stable of comic artists included some names Jack Cole, Jack Binder, Otto Binder, Charles Biro, and Mort Meskin. I found an online copy at Digital Comic Museum.
